Homebush Bay was the location for many of the venues for the Olympics staged between the 15th of September & 1st of October 2000. The venue includes Sydney Olympic Park, Olympic Stadium, Olympic Village, Sydney International Aquatic Centre, State Hockey Centre, State Sports Centre, The Baseball Stadium, Sydney International Archery Park and other venues.
The Olympics were known as the "Green Olympics" and being by far the most environment friendly games. New environmental technology such as Photovoltaic Solar Cells are being used to power the Olympic Village and power lighting around the Homebush Bay venues.
