The Entrance is named after
its location at the Tasman Sea entrance of the Tuggerah Lakes. The area is
a popular holiday and fishing spot. You can swim at the beaches or
fish in the Lake.
Pelicans are regularly fed at the
Waterfront at approximately 3:30pm daily. The Pelican Feeding Officers
present an educational talk while feeding the pelicans. Observers can
also get the opportunity to ask questions too.
There are numerous long jetties to walk
out onto the lake at Long Jetty. The place sure lives by its name.
For the keen cyclist or walker, a
shared track runs from The Entrance along the lake's foreshore
around to Chittaway Bay. There are barbeque facilities, public toilets
and playgrounds to make your visit comfortable.
Accommodation is varied and abundant,
however peak season requires bookings early at most venues as the
place is so popular to holiday makers.
There are many facilities for the many
activities that can be done at The Entrance. A movie theatre,
retail outlets, a carnival, a Sunday open-air market, and many
restaurants fill this coastal destination, where you can do as much as
you like or as little as you like.
If you feel the urge to be
out on the water, there are relaxing lake cruises that can be boarded at
The Entrance to satisfy that urge.
